The Big Food Redesign Challenge
The Big Food Redesign Challenge | Ellen MacArthur Foundation (2023)
The current food system is a primary driver of biodiversity loss and accounts for a third of global greenhouse gases. We can (and must!) redesign our food system to allow nature to thrive.
Everything around us is designed—including our food products, takeaways, and restaurant meals. But what if it was designed for nature to thrive? What if our food could help tackle climate change and protect biodiversity? It most definitely can, and leading food manufacturers and retailers have a crucial role to play.
The Big Food Redesign Challenge was launched to inspire the food industry to apply circular design principles to food and catalyse the development of innovative food products designed for nature to thrive.
I worked closely with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and the Sustainable Food Trust teams to successfully launch The Big Food Redesign Challenge in May 2023, through a flagship video, a website, digital communications campaign, and joint events at the Barbican Centre in London and São Paulo’s Museu da Casa Brasileira.
